We encourage ongoing communication regarding the health of the participants.

What is an Adult Day Center?

An adult day center is a non-residential facility pro-viding activities for elderly and/or handicapped individuals. We operate 10 hours per day and provide meals, social/recreational outings, and general super-vision. We operate under a social model as well as a health care model. As a local, family owned center we focus on providing care for persons with Alzheimer’s and other related dementia's or other services for adults with disabilities. We maintain a nurse on-site to check vital signs and provide medical assistance as needed. We also provide transportation and personal care as well as counseling for caretakers. Participation in adult day centers often prevents re-hospitalizations and may delay admission to residential long term care facilities. For participants who would otherwise stay at home alone, the social stimulation and recreational activities may improve or maintain physical and cognitive function. For caregivers, adult day centers provide respite care, enabling caregivers to work or to have a break from their care giving responsibilities. Helping Hands Adult Day Center is an interactive, safe and secure environment for participants requiring supervised daily care.

What are the cost?

The cost of adult day programs varies from one program to another, and depends on the level of care provided.

You may be able to get financial assistance if you meet financial requirement and have an assessed need for adult day care services. Most programs accept private payments as well as payments from Medicaid or other stated funded programs, Veterans’ Administration, and Long Term Care Insurance.
